Solstice Challenge: Block 3

I am having so much fun with this Solstice Challenge by Pat Sloan! Block 3 took me no time and now I want to make entire quilts out of it. I’m still trying to get over the panic attacks of cutting into my Kaffe Fassett stash but I’m sure I’m not the only one. (Sidenote: it’s helping me that I know for a fact, if I died tomorrow, the only person who would know what the stash was is my mother.) I mean, it does need to be used, right?

Block 3: Tide Pool

In between everything in my life, which I don’t want to bore you all on but may write a post in a few weeks, I’m working on lots of swaps on Instagram. Do you like swaps or do you stay far away?

Solstice Challenge

I’m starting on the Solstice Challenge by the always fabulous Pat Sloan and I’m loving it! To be quite honest, these are blocks that I would never sew unless it was for a specific reason. I’m having fun challenging myself with them!

I’ve decided to do all of them in various Kaffe Fassett fabrics and a white background from Carkai by Carolyn Friedlander. Who said Kaffe couldn’t be modern? Pffff.

Block 1: Churn Dash

I’m doing them at my own pace as I can find time but considering it’s only 1 pattern a week, I’m not that far behind!

Block 2: Day Into Night

It’s a lot of fun to see what everyone comes up with. If you’re participating, what fabrics are you using? Do you have a plan or are you just throwing them together as you go?
